Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments must be cancelled 24 hours in advance of your session. Missed appointments and cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance result in a full fee charge for the counseling session.

Do you accept insurance?

I only accept cash, credit card or check. I’m happy to provide you with the documentation needed for reimbursement if your insurance company covers out of network counseling services.

Who do you offer services to?

I offer counseling services to individuals, ages 15 years old & up.

What is a counseling session like?

Individual counseling sessions are 60 minutes.

Sessions are tailored to each client, so no two sessions look the same. Counseling is all about supporting you to reach your goals and desired outcomes in counseling. I bring compassionate presence and support you to feel empowered in your life.

How do I prepare for my first session?

Come as you are. You don’t need to prepare anything for your first counseling session. You’re welcome to come with questions or topics you’d like to focus on during your session, and I will support you in identifying your desired goals and outcomes.

How often should I expect to come for a counseling session?

The frequency of counseling is different for each client. For most clients I suggest coming once weekly for a few months so we can build trust and relationship to begin. We will discuss your goals and needs to determine what frequency would be best for you.

How do you integrate spirituality into counseling?

Counseling involves many aspects of an individual’s beliefs and life experiences. Those areas include the emotional, mental, spiritual, relational and physical health of each person.

I hold a holistic lens with clients and I’m inclusive of a client's spirituality based upon the wishes of the client.

I listen to each client’s unique needs around the use of their faith, or not, in their counseling process. Prayer and other spiritual or non-spiritual resources are based upon the desires of the client.

I welcome clients of all faith backgrounds in my counseling practice and I’m invested in supporting each client based upon their values and wishes.
